Harwinton’s Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 27th at 2:00pm. The parade route starts at the Harwinton Fairgrounds and ends at the Town Green.
NOTE – ROUTE 4 WILL BE CLOSED FROM 2:15 UNTIL THE END OF THE CEREMONY.

The Harwinton Food Pantry provides food for individuals and families that reside in Harwinton.
Food is distributed every other Tuesday between the hours of 10:30 am – 12:00 pm. The Food Pantry is located in the rear entrance of Harwinton Town Hall.

The Town of Harwinton provides fingerprinting to the residents of Harwinton by appointment only. Effective March 1, 2013, the Town of Harwinton charges a $15.00 fee for fingerprinting services. Please call Harwinton’s Resident State Trooper at 860-485-1421 to make an appointment.

You will need to provide valid identification when you arrive for fingerprinting. Acceptable forms of payment are money orders or certified bank checks. Personal checks, cash, credit or debit cards are not accepted.

Please note that the fingerprinting fee includes only the cost of taking your fingerprints. Additional fees may be charged for other permit processes.

Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Town of Harwinton that the second installment of REAL ESTATE and PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES on the Grand List of October 1, 2011, and the MOTOR VEHICLE SUPPLEMENT TAXES are due and payable on January 1, 2013. If the second installment and the supplement motor vehicle taxes are not paid on or before February 1, 2013, they become delinquent and are subject to interest, at a rate of 1 ½% per month or fraction of each month from the time when it became due and payable, until it is paid. Minimum interest is $2.00. The hours of the Tax Collector are: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday and Thursday; 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm, Tuesday; and 12:00 noon – 6:00 pm Wednesday, Closed Friday. The office will be open 9:00 am – 12:30 pm on Friday, February 1, 2013.

Residents will now be able to have prescription coverage at a discounted price with Harwinton’s new Prescription Discount Card. These cards will be mailed on or around January 22, 2013 from ProAct. This will give the community discounted prescription medication, savings on vision and hearing services.
