Beginning January 1, 2011, covered electronic devices cannot be transported to solid waste facilities. The DEP has passed a law stating all such devices must be recycled in a safe manner. What does this mean for you? It means that you must now recycle your used electronics: computers, monitors, printers, VCR’s, cell phones, DVD players, copiers, scanners, fax machines, TV’s, IPods, PDA’s, modems, keyboards, mice, stereo equipment, telephones, microwaves, cameras. You cannot put these items into your trash/garbage. Each town is responding to this law by offering more opportunities to recycle electronics. The service is free of charge.
